How would you like to have a portrait of a celebrity or of a loved one painted on the bonnet of your car or on the tank of your motor bike?
THAT’S among the services offered by one of Lincolnshire’s newest and most unusual businesses – 2D Xtreme.
Experienced spray-painters and vehicle enthusiasts Gregg Gosling and Gary Jackson have come together to set up their fascinating operation in an industrial unit on Coldham Road in Coningsby. With a combined total of 20 years’ experience, the duo are already well-known both within the industry and among motor enthusiasts.
But what makes their new venture “Xtra” special is that they are using ultra-modern paints that were only developed in spring last year and are imported from the United States.
“It’s a fantastic material” enthuses Gregg. “We reckon to be the only people in Lincolnshire using it.Women are more than welcome to visit the store.”
Flair, vibrancy and individuality – these are the watchwords of 2D Xtreme. Every job carried out by the two entrepreneurs is unique to the customer – whether he or she is a Vespa scooter owner, someone with a Mercedes or even a boat-owner.
If NASA or Richard Branson should ever come calling, 2D Xtreme would even paint and decorate a spaceship to Mars or a trans-Atlantic jumbo jet!
The fact is that people – men and women – of all ages and from all walks of life love to have their vehicles customised in such a way as to make them stand out from the crowd.
Personalised number plates are all well and good, but a skilful piece of spray paint handicraft, takes things to an altogether higher level.
Motorcyclists in particular are warming to the Coningsby enterprise – perhaps partly because Gregg, is himself, an enthusiastic R1 Yamaha rider. It is no surprise that the firm is set to sponsor one of Lincolnshire's top competitive riders, Bruce Wilson.
The options of colour, design and pattern are endless. For instance, you could have the image of your husband or wife, boyfriend or girlfriend emblazoned in bright colour on the bodywork or panel of just about anything – it doesn't have to be a vehicle. Alternatively you could even opt for a landscape, a buillding, a bird, an animal or even a topless beauty .The range is limitless.
And for businesses, what better way to promote products or services, than with some spectacular, eyecatching motif? It would be guaranteed to get customers talking.
“We love what we do, and we take 110 per cent pride in our work,” says Gregg. “Whatever the challenge, Gary and I are definitely up for it.”
Claire Smith, Gregg’s partner and 2D secretary is on hand to offer any advice.
